Every week, Wondmagne leads the School Eye Health Club, which brings together approximately. 35 students and six fellow teachers. The club provides interactive sessions on eye health education, following the World Health Organisation’s SAFE strategy—Surgery, Antibiotics, Facial cleanliness, and Environmental improvement—a proven approach to eliminating trachoma.

Wondmagne also plays a critical role in identifying children with potential vision issues, ensuring they get the care they need before problems affect their learning.
As a father of four, Wondmagne understands the value of good eyesight in a child’s education. His dedication helps build a culture of prevention and awareness that reaches beyond the school and into the wider community.
