On Saturday 1 October 2022, 35 Orbis supporters ran, crawled, and jumped around an 8KM obstacle course to raise money for Orbis.
A big shout out to our teams from Airbus, Aircastle, AvAir, Jackson Square Aviation, Le Chéile Group and the Royal Victoria Eye & Ear Hospital for participating in this year's HELL & BACK Challenge and raising vital funds for Orbis's sight- saving work in southern Ethiopia.
Together they raised over €8,000 for Orbis, and every penny will go towards our eye-care project in Ethiopia. This is an outstanding result.
These funds will enable Orbis to conduct 800 sight-saving surgeries for those who are at immediate risk of blindness in rural Ethiopia. Or we can provide 533 pairs of desperately needed glasses to children and adults so they can return to school and work. Or train 200 teachers in basic eye care so they can recognise eye problems and help children receive the eye care they need.In Ethiopia, where basic eye care is scarce, Orbis provides the tools and training to ensure no one goes needlessly blind. So, thank you to everyone who took on the HELL & BACK Challenge in aid of Orbis.
