Orbis and the Sporting Proud Triathlon 2017

September 2017

On Saturday 2nd September, Orbis supporters took part in the 21st Sporting Proud Triathlon in aid of Orbis Ireland.

Orbis Ireland was delighted to once again be chosen as a beneficiary charity for the 21st Sporting Proud Triathlon on Saturday 2 September in Brittas Bay, Co. Wicklow. More than 250 people took part on the day, with a mixture of individuals and teams competing in the Olympic and Sprint distances.

The Sporting Proud Triathlon is an annual event set up to provide the opportunity for like-minded individuals to participate in a unique and fun event, gaining a sense of personal accomplishment while also raising funds for deserving charities. The triathlon is run through volunteers that graciously give their time and resources, meaning that proceeds from the event go directly to the charity.

Thanks to the generosity and dedication of the individuals who took part in the triathlon this year, more than €7,000 was raised for Orbis' sight-saving work in southern Ethiopia!

A special thank you to AerCap and Four Star Pizza who kindly supported Orbis' involvement in the event
